Comments:
After graduation I worked at Sichol's & Sons across from Old Christ Church making Beds & outdoor furniture. Then I completed a six year apprenticeship in printing & worked as linotype operator & a make-up man at Philadelphia Inquirer, worked at the Liberty Bell Racetrack printing shop & various magazine publishers. Went on to Home Remodeling Contractor for 15 years until the recession of 1980 created my demise of the business. I was lucky to acquire a job at the Philadelphia Shipyard till it closed. After a few frustrating months I was accepted as a carpenter with the city of Philadelphia where I worked until I fell off scaffolding & literally tore off my right foot. I have been retired since. All in all I think I led an interesting life. Married Dorothy Gardopee a former Mastbaum student in April 1959. She would have graduated in the June 1958 class. She worked at K-Mart & Home Depot. My wife Dorothy passed away quietly on February 8, 2017 after two years of illness. I met Dot when I just turned 17 & she was almost 16. Married on April 25th of 1959. Altogether we have been together almost 60 years. She has definitely left a hole in my life. In April of 2019 I had a second chance of happiness with a wonderful woman (Carol Clark) to share my life with.
Happy birthday Rosemary. Enjoy your special day with family & friends. Great to see some of my classmates still out there. Gennaro Mauro class of June 1956
