Joseph "Bubba" Wilson, Sr. - Class Of 1950

Joseph E. "Bubba" Wilson Sr.

SHAMOKIN — Joseph Edward "Bubba" Wilson Sr., 81. 245 S. Franklin St., died at 2;44 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Hospital.

He was born Dec. 26, 1933, in Philadelphia, a son of Reba Burrell.

He worked as an electrician for Nesbitt Electric Co. in Philadelphia.

He lived in Shamokin for 18 years.

On Aug. 8, 1953, he married Jane Ann Weber, who preceded him in death.

He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the Shamokin Moose.

He graduated from Mastbaum High School in Philadelphia. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He is survived by two daughters, Sandra Jane Wilson Horn, of Muncy Valley, Mary C. (Wilson) Duganitz and her husband, Michael, of Shamokin; six sons, Joseph E. Wilson Jr. and his wife, Esther, of Philadelphia, Thomas E. Wilson and Judy, of Maine, Michael E. Wilson and wife, Michele, of Trevorton, Edward M. Wilson and Kelly, of Shamokin, Mark C. Wilson and Helena, of Shamokin, Matthew R. Wilson and Candy, of Philadelphia; 31 grandchildren; numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Beatrice Strockbine, of Philadelphia, and a brother, Jack Wilson, and Clair, of Trebose.

He was preceded in death by a son, William J. Wilson, brothers, Edward and James Wilson and a sister, Ruth Conarty.
