William G. Haas, age 83 of Deptford Twp., NJ passed away at home on Saturday, March 8, 2025. Born in Hazelton, PA to the late William E. Haas and Anna May (nee Fisher), he moved to Philadelphia at the age of 13 and attended Jules E. Mastbaum High School. Bill was a union painter for District Counsil #21 in Philadelphia. He was a freemason at the Masonic Temple on Broad Street in Philadelphia and was their youngest Worshipful Master when he was 29 years old. He married Luann (nee Rafferty) in 2021 after being together for 42 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, boating, trips to auctions, selling items on eBay and was an avid Philadelphia Phillies Fan. Bill also collected coo-coo clocks and erector sets. He enjoyed winters in Fort Myers Beach, FL and had been to Paris France five times.
He is survived by his wife Luann; daughters, Michele L. Haas, Geraldine M. Haas (Ted Jordan), Cindy L Gill (Chris Ferrugi), and Betsey Francis (Joachim); grandchildren, Stephen Holleran, Christina Haas (Jeffrey Matz), Zachary Haas, Andrew Joseph Hooper, Josephine Francis, Timothy & Matthew Woods; great grandchildren, Bella Haas, Veda Haas, Hailee Matz and Fiona Sewell; his sister, Donna Collins & her husband Lawrence; his brother, Fritz Haas; and sister-in-law Elizabeth Hess. Bill was predeceased by his son, William G. Haas Jr., and his siblings, Mildred Haas, Robert Haas, and Catherine Tyler.
Relatives and friends may visit from 9:30 am to 11 am on Wednesday, March 12th at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ where a funeral service will be held at 11 am. Burial will follow in Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ.
