El;eanor Danielewicz (Stevenson) - Class Of 1937

Eleanor (Danielewicz) Stevenson,

a Bucks County resident since 1954, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2018. She was 98. Eleanor was born and raised in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia. She attended St. Laurentius Grade School and Mastbaum Tech. She met her husband, Stanley, in the neighborhood and they attended many bingo games together at St. Anne’s Parish Hall. Eleanor worked for Gimbels Department Store as a seamstress. She and Stanley married on June 26, 1954 and moved to their home on Harding Avenue in Feasterville that same year. Eleanor retired from her job at Gimbels and took on her bigger job as wife, mother and homemaker for her husband and their two children, Lorraine and Stanley. Stanley died in 1985 and Eleanor remained in Feasterville until moving to D’Youville Manor in 2007, where she enjoyed the company of the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart and her fellow residents. In 2016, she moved to St. Joseph Manor. Eleanor maintained her love of sewing and crocheting afghans; she continued her enjoyment of bingo and she played a mean game of pinochle. Eleanor embraced her Polish heritage and enjoyed dancing to the sounds of a good polka band. She is survived by her children, Lorraine Gazzara and her husband, Kevin, of Phoenix, Ariz. and Stanley Stevenson and his wife, Ellen, of Newtown. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Kimberly McLaughlin (Phil), Christine Gazzara, Jamie Stevenson (Justin Miller), Samantha (Stevenson) Worley (Josh), Bridget Tonrey and Thomas Tonrey (Dyanna); and her great-grandchildren, Jayden and Jordyn Miller.
