Eugene Orr - Class of 1988

Gene (aka Minker) was born in Philadelphia to Margaret and John Orr. He passed away unexpectedly at home. Gene attended St Anne’s and Mastbaum High School, where he studied to be an auto mechanic.  

 Gene truly had a kind heart. He always found time to help out family and friends. Despite life’s many challenges, he always managed to remain upbeat.  
Gene loved listening to music and going to concerts.   He enjoyed movies and boardgames, and he particularly loved playing Parcheesi with his daughter Jackie. He was a big fan of Nascar (Jeff Gordon was his favorite) and enjoyed working on cars. Gene was often the life of the party at family gatherings.

Eugene is the beloved son of Peggy and Bud Dixon. Devoted father of Jacqueline "Jackie" Orr. Dear brother of John Orr (Mary), Rich Orr (Jackie), Cathy Robinson (Kevin), Peggy Busse (Joe), Thomas Dixon (Tina), Bud Dixon (Natalie), Keith Dixon (Diane), and Brian Dixon (Stacey). Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are invited to gather and celebrate his life Saturday January 14, 2023 beginning at 8:30am in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia, PA 19125. Funeral service 10:30am.
