Marco Michetti - Class Of 1979

Marco David Michetti, beloved father, grandfather, and proud son of Italian immigrants, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, at the age of 63. Born in the Kensington section of Philadelphia, PA, on October 6th 1961, Marco lived a life full of hard work, laughter, creativity, and unwavering dedication to his family and faith.

 

Marco was the devoted son of Roberto Michetti, a skilled painter, and Maria Grace Caggese Michetti a compassionate nurse, who came to America during World War II in pursuit of a better life.

He was preceded in death by his dedicated father Roberto Michetti, loving mother Maria Grace Caggese Michetti, older brother, Gaetano Michetti(Valerie), cherished sister, Gilda Michetti and devote son-in-law Jason Riddell.

 

A 1979 graduate of Masbaum High School, Marco went on to earn a degree in Business Management from Temple University. His early years were marked by athleticism and artistry—he ran cross country, played baseball, football and tennis, and displayed a remarkable musical talent on both the piano and guitar. He often drew inspiration from The Beatles and was a lifelong fan of Hall & Oates. Marco held many positions throughout his career, working for well-known companies including Wawa, Blockbuster, Silver Lake Inn, Grossman’s, Channel, Rickel, Hechinger, Builder’s Square, Circuit City, Best Buy, CVS, Walmart, Extra Space Storage and lastly Home Depot. Alongside his traditional employment, Marco was a passionate entrepreneur. He founded several small ventures over the years that reflected his creativity and work ethic, including Machete Cutwear, Michetti Family Pizza, Michetti Properties, and MDMP. He also recently became a licensed real estate agent. Which displayed Marco’s will and courage to always try and improve no matter what obstacles may have been placed before him. A man of faith, Marco was a devoted member of the Medford congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where he found comfort, community, and purpose. Marco was a lifelong Philadelphia sports enthusiast and a particularly proud Phillies fan. He found joy in quoting lines from the Rocky movies, which spoke to his resilient and hopeful spirit.

 

Marco is survived by his three loving children: Anthony David Michetti, Marco Victor Michetti (Julie), and Lauren Rachel Michetti Riddell (Jason). He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Giselle, Michael, Anthony, Matteo, Audrina, Milania, Layla and with his 8th and youngest grandson expected to be born this October, Marco. His love for his family was deep and unwavering, and his presence in their lives was a source of strength, humor, support and guidance.

 

Marco had a work ethic only the ones fortunate enough to have had the pleasure of working along side him could understand. He had a truly natural gift to lead. His fire and ice approach to management was the perfect balance of being personal and simultaneously commanding respect while always maintaining outstanding performance and achieving his goals that was deserving of undeniable praise.

 

Marco’s legacy is one of hard work, perseverance, faith, and family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, July 21st, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM, at the COSTANTINO-PRIMO FUNERAL HOME, 231 W. White Horse Pike, Berlin, NJ, 08009. Services will begin at 11:00 AM, there will be a livestream. Entombment will follow in Berlin Cemetery Mausoleum, Berlin, NJ.
