Cynthia “Cyndi” McDonnell Obituary

Cynthia McDonnell “Cyndi” (nee Thomas) passed away on November 18, 2023 at the age of 64. She was born to the late Earl and Joanne (nee Bassler) Thomas.

Cyndi was raised in the Kensington section of Philadelphia and remained there throughout most of her life. She graduated from Mastbaum High School and then entered the workforce. Cyndi had a great work ethic and always worked hard to provide for her son. She was a selfless person who would do anything for her family, even when it came with a little bit of tough love. Because of this she was like a mom to more than just her own son. Cyndi will be remembered as being a simple woman who was loving and caring. She will be greatly missed. 

Cyndi is the devoted mother of Sean McDonnell. Loving Grandmom of Chloe, Gracelynn, and Sean Jr. Beloved sister of of Earl Thomas (Nancy), Joanne Weber (Bruce), Sandra Blose, Ronald Thomas, and the late Daniel Thomas (late Pat).Dear aunt of Tiffany Holzworth,who was like a daughter. Sadly missed by her nieces and nephews and the mother of her grandchildren, Stephanie Komar. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Monday November 27th from 7-9pm and Tuesday November 28th from 9-10am in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia, PA 19125. Funeral mass 10:30am in St. Anne Church (lower) 2328 East Lehigh Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19125. Interment Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Broomall, PA.
