Fonda Barnaby - Class of 1973
Fonda R. Barnaby, loving daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, passed away on January 14, 2024, in Largo, MD. Born on September 12, 1955, in Mishawaka, IN, Fonda was a vibrant soul whose laughter and love of life left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Though her roots began in Indiana, she was a true Philly girl at heart, having spent most of her life in Philadelphia.
Fonda's family was the cornerstone of her life. She is survived by her mother Faith Barnaby, daughter, Dana Sullivan, and her husband Richard; and Fonda's son, Dustin Perez; her sisters Tanya Edwards, Leah Barnaby, and Yolonda Barnaby; her brother, Rev. Joel Barnaby; her cherished grandchildren, Lilly, Richie, Sarah, Lucas, and Noah; and her cousin, Rev. Mark Barnaby. Numerous extended family members will also carry on Fonda's legacy of love and laughter, and many friends whose lives she touched. She was predeceased by her beloved father, Bishop Fred Barnaby.
Fonda loved the arts and had an innate talent for painting and photography, often capturing the beauty of the world around her with a unique perspective. Her love for music and singing was infectious, and she could often be found humming a tune or sharing a song with those around her.
Her grandchildren were the light of Fonda's world. She loved them with all her heart and cherished every moment spent with them. Her playful spirit and boundless energy made her the favorite playmate, and the memories created during those precious times will be treasured forever.
Fonda's zest for life extended to her love of shopping, with a particular fondness for finding the perfect pair of shoes or boots. She also had a passion for travel, with Florida being one of her favorite destinations. Her adventurous spirit was matched only by her generosity and willingness to give to others without a second thought.
Those who knew Fonda will remember her as the life of the party, always ready with a joke or a funny story to share. Her laughter was contagious, and her presence could light up a room. She embodied love, always showing care and affection to those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held for Fonda on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Calvary Full Gospel Church, 676 Lincoln Hwy, Fairless Hills, PA 19030.
A funeral service will follow at the church from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Disposition will be conducted privately.
