Sorry to hear about the passing of Joe. Although Joe and I were not necessarily friends, we were acquaintances.  We were some of the few students  from Fishtown who attended Mastbaum.  If my memory serves me right, Joe attended the old Hackett School, and then later Penn Treaty Junior High. I remember Joe always had a good sense of humor. And if there's one thing that sticks out in my mind, is a doodle drawing of Joe's: It was a drawing of of a fence, that showed the top of a head, two eyes, a nose, and both hands of a man, and the quote said, "Don't Fence Me In."
