I remember Bill very well. He was a very nice young man. Bill & I both attended John Paul Jones Jr. High School. As a matter of fact I purchased the flowers for my wedding from Franklin Florist. He waited on me and took my flower order. So sorry to hear of the passing away in 2010 of William Franklin Jr. Yet another man who died young.- Kathy Gerold Lawrence

This August, 2015 will mark the fifth anniversary of Bill's death and I am very proud to say I was his best friend for over forty years. Bill left behind a wife, a son and a daughter who continue to miss him dearly. Like his family, I miss him, like a brother.

There are too many stories about Bill to record here. But I'd like to say a few things about Bill to honor him. He was one of the good guys. He had what many in our country lack today; honor, respect, morals and manners to name a few.

Bill worked in his parents flower shop @ Kensington near Somerset Sts, (William J. Franklin's Florist) until he bought the business. Many years later, as the neighborhood & floral business declined, he regrettably sold the business. A very TOUGH decision! Bill then worked for Home Depot in a few different locations, up until cancer took him from us.

Bill worked hard all his life, sometimes life wasn't pretty, but he always had a smile and a devilish twinkle in his eye.

Bill was a long time member of the Lions Club and for a few years volunteered as a Second Alarrmer. I picked up my passion for vounteering from my friendship with Bill.

Keep Bill and his family in your prayers.  Once again, he was one of ther good guys!

Bill was a great friend, and everthing and more that John described about Bill. I miss him very much, and was stunned when I learned of his untimely death. My memories of Bill, his family and the flower shop will always be special.
