Charles "Mac" MacAndrew - Class of 1967

Charles “Mac” MacAndrew passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014, after a long battle with cancer.
Mac was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 26, 1950. He was the youngest of three children. He grew up in Fishtown, a section of Philadelphia and graduated from Mastbaum High School. Mac spent his summers in Wildwood, NJ, where he developed his love of the beach, surfing, and making saltwater candy at Douglas Candies on the boardwalk. He completed his education at Florida State University in 1978 with a Bachelor degree in Hotel and Restaurant. Mac met his wife Diane while at Florida State and they married in 1981. During his college years Mac developed a real love for tennis. He was well known for his competitive spirit on the courts.
Mac began his career in the Hotel and Restaurant industry, but later transitioned into sales in the computer field. He loved working with computers and helping out family and friends whenever there was a need. In 2003 Mac found that he had a real knack for the mortgage business. He set off on the path to establish himself in this new venture, but his journey was cut short by the cancer diagnosis in 2007.

Mac will be remembered for his fun loving attitude, his loyalty, his love of football, and his competitive spirit. He will be greatly missed, but the family takes great comfort knowing he is in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by his father Charles Harold MacAndrew and his mother Josephine Mary MacAndrew. He is survived by his wife Diane Webb MacAndrew, Maitland, FL; sister Ruth MacAndrew of Tennessee; sister Charlotte Harrison and husband Chick of New Jersey; uncle Joe Forrestal of Jacksonville Beach; nephew David Keller of New Jersey; father-in-law Robert Webb, East Palatka, FL; brothers-in-law David Webb and Douglas Webb, Palatka, FL, Randall Webb and wife Florence, Willow spring, NC.
