Thomas M Hoffmann - Class Of 1967

He graduated from Mastbaum in 1967 and joined the Marine Corps in May 1968.  He was sent to Vietnam in November of that year.  The 20 year old lance corporal, a radio operator with Company A, 1st Battalion, 3rd Marines, 3rd Marine Division, died on May 19, 1969 during a mortar attack northwest of Can Lo, Quang Tri Province.  He was survived by his mother, a brother and sister.

Stephen Uchniat (1967)

THOMAS A. HUFFMAN GRADUTED FROM MASTBAUM IN 1967, AND JOINED THE MARINES IN MAY 1968. HE WAS SENT TO VIETNAM IN NOV. 1968. TOM WAS A 20 YEAR OLD LANCE CORPARAL, RADIO OPERATOR WITH CO. Edward Schrandt (1967)

Thomas, So sorry to hear of your passing. Your were a good guy and a real pleasant guy and were always good to me. I'm sorry you were sent to that hell hole "Nam. I enlisted in the USArmy in 1968 and was permanent party at FT Gordon as an electronics instructor. I was later granted a special assignement to Belgium for 2 years, the duration of my 3 year enlistment. I didn't re-up as most guys who served during that time. I trust you are at peace and you didn't suffer. God bless you and thank you for your service. Your fellow veteran, Eddy Schrandt class of '67
