In Memory

William Buchanan - Class Of 1967

William Buchanan

William Buchanan, Class of 1967 and long time teacher at Jules E Mastbaum passed away on November 26, 2020.

From Mrs. Patricia Bussmann Buchanan:

Yesterday, after many years of suffering with copd and being treated for lung cancer, my sweet Bill peacefully went home to be with the Lord. After a week in the hospital and not responding to iv medications he chose to come home - knowing the outcome. Thank God he got home - but only for 1 day. All the children were with him when he came home. He was always courageous and upbeat. I have so many wonderful memories of our lives together; from meeting while teaching at Mastbaum, raising our beautiful children Leanna Lynn, Ian Michael, (Brian Buchanan, Marisa Moore), joking with grandchildren, traveling the US & the world, to laughing so hard in the car we'd have to pull over! Thank you all for being his friend and for your kind and sympathetic words. To quote some of you; Bill graduated to glory and had Thanksgiving at the Lord's table. Amen.

Hi Pat,

So sorry to hear about Bill's passing. Although I was a year ahead of him at Mastbaum, I have many fond memories - not only as a classmate but, as a colleague when we taught together at Mastbaum.  He was a great guy and will be missed by many.  Hoping fond memories give you and your family peace and strength.

Dear Pat,  I'm so sorry to hear about Bill's passing.  My deepest sympathy to you and the family.  We know to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.  We graduated the same year in 1967. It was really good to see him and other classmates at our 50th class reunion in October 2017.  You take care, be safe and well.  Lillie (Jones) Claitt

I'm so very sorry to hear about Bill's passing. We were friends in childhood, and attended school together.  I looked forward to seeing him at class reunions, he was a wonderful guy.  I offer sincere condolences to his family.

Dear Pat, I have known Bill since Kindergarten at Cramp School.  We had a vast history.  I had met you a few times and I truly will miss Bill at any future reunions we may have.  I am happy that he no longer suffers, however.  I know he fought COPD and cancer over the years and I know in my heart that he is with those family members who have gone before him.  May God give you the strength and courage to live your life and enjoy the children and grandchildren to the fullest.  God Bless You and Your Family.  Janice Stellman Powell- Class of 1967.
