Ruben Acevedo - Class of 1967

Ruben Acevedo, 70, of Bethlehem, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021. Born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico on July 25, 1950, he was a son of the late Agustine and Maria (Mendez) Acevedo. Ruben worked as a laborer for W.R. Grace, Quakertown until he retired. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. To his daughter, he was the "King of Beers", enjoyed sitting on his porch, and having a few cold ones. He liked watching westerns, old movies and was an avid Dolphins and Mets fan. Above all he loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. They were the love of his life.

SURVIVORS: Ruben will be greatly missed by his daughter, Kathleen Acevedo-DePinto (Cosmo); siblings, Edward Acevedo (Sandra), Agustine Acevedo (Barbara), Antonia Alicea; grandchildren, Giuliana, Arianna and Luca. He was predeceased by siblings, Martha Ramos, Minerva "Judy" Rosa, Angelo and Pedro Acevedo.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 11:00 PM at Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., Bethlehem PA where relatives and friends can call from 10:00 AM until the time of service. A viewing will also be held on Tuesday March 23, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Memorial Park. Due to current restrictions, we ask you to follow social distancing protocols and a facial covering must be worn. A memory tribute may be placed at cantelmifuneralhome.com.
