Maryann Zagacki (Ochmanowicz)

Maryann Zagacki-Ochmanowicz - Class of 1966

Maryann Ochmanowicz (nee Zagacki) Born August 14th, 1948 passed away suddenly on March 4th, 2022. We would like to believe she was kissed by her parents and peacefully entered Heaven, welcomed by them- Helen (nee Gasiorowski) & Francis Zagacki. Maryann was the loving wife of Edward Ochmanowicz for over 50 years, and an incredible role model and friend to her daughters, Christina (John) Thomas and Carolyn (John) Shimp. The battle for her favorite son-in-law was always answered with "John," and she was never wrong. She was the world's absolute best Babci to Connor and Kelsey Shimp, whom she loved beyond measure and will be incredibly missed by them. Babci also loved her grandpups – Keeley, Stella, Darley and new additions Katie & Bailey. She loved her family dearly and will be missed by her sister Helen (Bob) Blash, and her brothers Francis (Donna) Zagacki and Stanley (Joyce) Zagacki. She was Aunt Mar to many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Maryann enjoyed sharing her Polish heritage with her family and helped pass on cherished customs and traditions to future generations. She also loved to garden, watch her grandson Connor play baseball and her granddaughter Kelsey dance. Maryann was known to spoil not only her grandchildren but also her grandpups. She particularly enjoyed spending time along the riverfront with the love of her life, Ed, sipping a Dunkin' Donuts decaf and watching the wildlife. She was an incredibly giving, caring and faithful woman. Her greatest treasure was spending time with her family and many lifelong friends. She touched so many lives wherever she went and was loved by all. Maryann loved sunflowers and recently had a full crop of them in her garden. To help us celebrate her life and love of sunflowers, please wear something yellow or with sunflowers while attending her services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to daughter Chrissie's St. Baldrick's Event, raising funds for childhood cancer - please click here. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Thursday evening March 10th from 6 PM to 8 PM and Friday morning March 11th from 9 AM to 10:30 AM at Slabinski Sucharski Funeral Home 2614 Orthodox Street. Maryann's funeral mass will be held Friday 11 AM in St. Adalbert's Church 2645 E. Allegheny Avenue. Her interment will be held privately.
