William ‘Bill’ Lee, 72, went home to his Lord and Savior on Monday evening June 1st, 2020 after a 15 month battle with cancer.
Bill was born March 12, 1948 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He worked 26 years at SCI Graterford (now SCI Phoenix). He started In the medical department and worked up to a unit manager. While he was there he met his wife of 35 years, Janet. He always stayed busy serving others, as an EMT for years, as an usher at church; and after retirement, as a volunteer at Manna, Joni and friends and many other charities.
He was a kind, quiet and funny man of faith. He loved coupons and finding a deal and yet was quick to help a friend in need. He loved to sing and taking pictures and grocery shopping. He was a prolific letter writer, writing daily to family and friends, even late into his Illness.
Left to remember him are his loving wife of 35 years, Janet Lee; his children: Kahlil Lee, Aaron Lee (Chris Benitez) Bob Keane (Jessica), Holly Keane Atkinson (Brian) and his grandkids: Reese, Jacob, Mason, Zachary and Amelia. Also surviving are his siblings: June (Amos) Henley, Ray (Mary) Vergara, and many other family members and friends.
We’ll miss him terribly but we rest in the knowledge that he’s healed and whole and with the Savior that loved him best.
A small graveside service for family has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Reformed Baptist Church of Franconia, or the Salvation Army.
