FITCHBURG -- Joyce Ann Cantlin, 75, of Fitchburg, passed away in her home after a long illness.
She was born on June 28, 1939 to the late Elmer A. Weisel and Geraldine T. (Carr) Weisel. She married Joseph Cantlin on her birthday at the age of 19 in Philadelphia, PA.
Joyce graduated from Jules E. Mastbaum Area Vocational Technical School in Philadelphia, specializing in the secretarial trade. She was a Regional Manager for the jewelry company, Sarah Coventry, as well as a Government Service Technician for the U.S. Army for many years as a Contractor, and held several Human Resource positions at Digital Equipment Corp. and retired at ENSR International in Human Resources.
Creativity came easy for Joyce. She loved to do needlepoint, crocheting, and knitting. She was an avid decorator with an amazing eye for beauty and detail, and took great pride in her creations.
Family and friends were her passion. There wasn't a moment that went by that she didn't have someone on her mind. Joyce cared for and was always concerned about the well being of everyone. She leaves behind many who will always keep her alive in their hearts.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph; her son, Joseph; her daughter, Missy Bell, all of Fitchburg. She leaves behind, but will always watch over the ones she called her blessings; her four grandchildren, Stephanie and Dallas Cantlin of Worcester, and Daniel and Austin Bell of Fitchburg. She will be missed by her beloved sister, Ann (Weisel) Stone and her brother David Weisel, both of Pennsylvania, as well as her six nieces and nephews.
CANTLIN -- The funeral will be held from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg with a Mass in Saint Bernard's Parish at Saint Camillus Church, 333 Mechanic Street, on Wednesday, June 3, at 11:00am. Calling hours will be held from 6-8pm on Tuesday, June 2, in the funeral home.
