Obituary for Janet R Vickery

Janet Ruth “Mum-Mum” (Sowers) Vickery, 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday November 3, 2019. Her final wish was granted as she wanted to pass away in the home she designed and her husband built for their family and friends to enjoy. She was able to spend her final days by the bay window that over looked the Christmas trees our family planted over the years. 

Janet was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Willard M. “Bop” Vickery and daughter Karen “Muzzy” Vickery. There was quite the party in heaven on Sunday!

She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and watching Jeopardy. She took pride in dominating every challenger at Trivial Pursuit and remains an undefeated champion! 

She is survived by her sisters Diane (Huffert) Cardiff and Barbara (Huffert) Matos; son-in-law Paul VanDoran; granddaughter Beth (Vickery) Beals and her husband Scott; grandson Micheal W. Vickery and his partner Mary Westcot. She adored her five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grand daughter. 

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 7, 4 PM, at the Atlantic Co. Veterans Cemetery in Estell Manor.
