Phyllis Hauser Cottrell - Class of 1955
Phyllis Cottrell, age 86, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully at Riverview Estates in Riverton on October 24, 2024 with her family by her side. Born in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia on October 26, 1937, Phyllis was the beloved daughter of Paul Hauser and Anna Hauser (nee Dignan). She is survived by her husband, David Cottrell, and her daughter, Kate Cottrell. She was predeceased by her siblings: Emma, Paul, Gus, Joe, Bill, Bob, Sis, and Joan. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy and her brother, John, and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her beloved pets, Candy, Tasha, Jerry, Oscar, Matilda, Lucy and Gracie.
Phyllis grew up in Fishtown, graduating from Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech in 1955. She began working at J.B. Lippincott & Co. in Philadelphia. After moving to New Jersey, she would later work for Dismar Corp. until her retirement.
Her favorite sports were baseball and football, and she rarely missed watching or going to a Phillies or Eagles game. She loved gardening and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed trips to Florida for Phillies spring training, and going to Ocean City for the summer.
