Joseph T. (Joe) Pomierny

January 5, 1937 – October 23, 2025

Joe, aged 88 passed away peacefully Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 4:20 PM.

Joseph Thomas Pomierny was born on January 5, 1937, in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. He was raised in Fishtown and graduated Mastbaum High School. Joe loved mechanical arts and the automotive industry. His past time was watching Barrett Jackson auction on tv and having great discussions with friends.

In 1955, Joe met the LOVE of HIS LIFE Barbara O’Brien. Three years later, Joe married his Love. Joe and Barb had two daughters, Barb & Kate. He loved being a girl Dad.

Joe moved his family to Willingboro NJ in 1974, after experiencing summers on the Rancocas Creek.

Joe worked at Advance Auto Supply at Girard & Marlborough Streets in Fishtown. He worked there for over 50 years until he retired.

Joe’s hobbies included deer hunting, shooting at the gun club, collecting Hess trucks, landscaping, water skiing, and boating. Every weekend in the summer months, he had his family water skiing and boating. It was all about “CRICKLIFE”!!!

He loved his family and his home. He was a homebody. Joe was a lifelong fan of the EAGLES and the Phillies.

Joe is survived by his loving wife Barbara of 70 years, his daughters Barbara O’Brien, Kate Plunkett & her fiancé Stephen Clegg, by his grandchildren, Alicia Lou Plunkett, Christopher Plunkett his wife Sara Gifford, Jennifer Ceriale her husband Jeff Damush and Michael Ceriale, along with his great grandchildren, Theodore Plunkett, Jameson, Avan, Chance, & Miles Damush, his sister Mary Lou Thompson, he is also survived by loving family and great friends.  Joe is preceded in death by his grand dog Trigger.

Funeral Services are private. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
