Beverly Richards Geist - Class of 1949
BEVERLY GEIST, 92, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on January 21, 2024, at her residence with her family at her side. She was the devoted wife of the late Edward Geist; they were married over 45 wonderful years. Beverly was the loving mother of the Late Edward Jr ( his wife Deneen), Beverly Delgott ( her husband George), and Mark ( his wife Dolores). She was the loving gram of Alexa, Allison, Dolores Beverly, and Mark, great-gram to Emma Lynn and Benjamin. She will be sadly missed by her sister Shirley Cariss (her husband the late George) many nieces, nephews, friends, and by all who knew her. He was preceded in death by her brother Danny Sweeney (his late wife Mildred).
Beverly was a cornerstone of her family, playing an integral role in raising her own children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her impact on their lives is immeasurable, and her legacy will continue to thrive through the generations she touched. She was also a compassionate caregiver to many, always ready to lend a helping hand and provide comfort to those in need. Her reliability and unwavering support made her a cherished friend to many.
She enjoyed life's simple pleasures. Bev enjoyed being a part of the St. Anselm community; she participated in the parish in every way, all at St. Anselm knew her. Bev had a passion for helping people, she was a Republican committeewoman, a Judge of elections for the Commonwealth of PA, and the local Republican ward leader. Bev enjoyed an occasional trip to the Casino. She found joy and excitement being with all children, as she was the gram for her street.
Bev worked as a for the City of Philadelphia in the Court of Common Pleas as a Court officer for many years. After retirement, she worked tirelessly for Kohls Department Store in Bensalem in Customer service, and a for Edgemont catering at the Edington Firehouse.
A Life Celebration will be held in honor of Beverly on Friday, January 26th from 9:30 to 10:50am at St. Anselm Church 12670 Dunks ferry Rd Philadelphia, PA 19154, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11am. Her interment will be private.
