Stanley P. Clattenburg

Beloved husband of Hazel May nee Seher, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at the age of 85.

Stan was born and raised in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia, and was graduated from Mastbaum Vocational Technical School in 1944. He enlisted in the U. S. Army and served with distinction in the Corps of Engineers, the 11th Airborne Division, and the Allied Occupation Forces in Japan. Stan was honorably discharged in 1946 having attained the rank of Sergeant. After military service, Stan entered Houghton College in 1947 and received his Bachelor of Music degree. He also pursued coursework in mechanical engineering technology at Drexel Institute. In addition to following a career in mechanical design, Stan served as choir director for multiple churches in the greater Philadelphia area until his retirement in 1994.

Stan is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Hazel; four children: Karen (Michael) McManus of Bear Creek, Keith (Laura) Clattenburg of West Norriton, Linda (Duane) Miklos of Levittown, and Laurie (Peter) Eaton of Willow Street; four grandchildren: Luke (Lauren) Eaton, L. May Eaton, Chelsea Eaton, Taylor Miklos; and one sister, Elisabeth Bailey of Williamstown, NJ. Stan was predeceased by his brother Calvin Clattenburg.

A memorial service celebrating Stan’s life will held at The Manor Orr Auditorium at Willow Valley on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, Stan’s family requests contributions may be made in his honor to the Alzheimer’s Association.
