Gary Smith

SMITH, Gary T., of San Clemente, CA, formerly of Collegeville, PA died on Jan. 6, 2013. He was the loving and faithful son of Dolores Imschweiler (nee Nicklous) and the late Alvin Imschweiler, dearest brother of Susan and Bernie Guerin, beloved uncle of Francis, Gregory and Daniel Guerin and best friend of Marydawn Meeder (nee Miller). His great intelligence, humor, wit and caring manner will be greatly missed by his family, his many close friends and colleagues. Gary was a senior project engineer with Meggitt Endevco in San Juan Capistrano, CA. He was also an inventor who held over 20 US and international patents. He was a musician who played woodwind instruments, primarily saxophone and flute; he enjoyed jazz and standards. Gary became a certified scuba diver in his early teens. Prior to moving to California 6 years ago, he enjoyed living in Santa Fe, NM for several years. He also enjoyed a recent 6-month assignment in Switzerland which gave him an opportunity to travel in Europe. During his career, Gary worked for several companies in the Philadelphia area, including Halliburton, AMP, Silent Power, and General Electric. Gary held an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Temple University. He was a member of ASME (founded as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers). Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday January 16th from 7-9 PM and Thursday Jan. 17th from 9-10 AM at the Bradley Funeral Home, Rt.73 and Evesham Rd., Marlton, NJ. A funeral service will be held Thursday 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment N. Cedar Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA.
