Roy Appenzeller - Class of 1979


Roy was born in Atlantic City, NJ to the late Anna Bell.  He passed away most unexpectedly at his home at the age of 60.  He moved to Philadelphia at an early age and attended H.A. Brown Elementary School and went on to Jules Mastbaum High School.  He served his country by joining the US Navy. 

A machine mechanic by trade, he was employed by Huetech Co. for a number of years.  He was a devoted family man and loved spending time watching Philly sports with his grandson.  He was a hard worker.  Roy also enjoyed working out and exercising. Always willing to lend a helping hand, he was well liked by all who met him. 

He is the beloved husband of Lessie King Appenzeller. Devoted father of Angie Appenzeller, Brandon Gaston and Lydia Gaston.  Loving grandpop to Joshua Appenzeller and Joseph Gaston Green. 

Dear brother of Estella Wilczynski (John), Philip Steven Appenzeller (Ethel), Margaret Gunkel (Eddie White), Ronald Appenzeller, Mary Belew (the late George), John Appenzeller (Suzanne) and the late James Appenzeller.  Also survived by his many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday March 16, 2022 beginng at 6 PM,  and share Words of Remembrance at 7:30 PM, in the HUBERT M. McBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, 2357 East Cumberland Street.   Further arrangements will be private.
