Arthur Alker - Class Of 1956

Arthur Alker

Arthur G. Alker, 78, of Philadelphia, PA passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Aria-Torresdale Hospital. 

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Jacob and Clara Fuoss Alker. Arthur was a graduate of Mastbaum High School, class of 1956. He was a member of FOP Lodge #5 for 50+ years. Arthur was retired from the 35th District of the Philadelphia Police Department after 33 years of service.

He served in the United States Air force and was Honorably Discharged. 

He was loved by his friends and neighbors always lending a hand when something needed fixing. In his most recent years he enjoyed his "coffee clutch" friends at the local Shoprite every morning.

He was the loving father of Wayne A. Alker(Jane), Steven A. Alker (Marni) and the late Beth L. White (Steven), and dear brother of Jay L. "Roy" Alker. Arthur was the devoted grandfather of Tyler, Tristan, Matthew, Christopher and Jonathan, and great-grandfather of Kenzie. 

Relatives and friends are invited to Arthur's Life Celebration from John F. Givnish of Academy Rd., 10975 Academy Rd., Phila. on Tuesday from 7-9:00pm and Wednesday from 9:30-10:30am followed by his Funeral Service at 10:30am. Interment in Oakland Cemetery, Philadelphia.
