Walter Woltjen - Class of 1968

 

Walter Woltjen of Warrington died Friday, August 4, 2017 at Arden Courts of Warminster surrounded by his loving family. He was 66.

Walter was the beloved husband of 44 years to Mary K. Gerner Woltjen.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Walter and Catherine Carrigan Woltjen Layton.

Walter was a former resident of the Tacony section of Northeast Philadelphia before moving to Warrington in 1986. He had a long career as a telephone installer starting with Bell Telephone working in the Tri-County area from 1968 until his retirement in 2007. In his leisure, he was a dedicated Philadelphia Phillies fan and often viewed many a ball game. Walter was the consummate family man and enjoyed quality time spent with his family, especially his cherished grandchildren. He will be truly missed by his family and by all who came to know him.

In addition to his beloved wife Mary, Walter is survived by his children, M. Colleen Myers of Lititz, PA, Erin K. Churico and her husband Rick of Douglassville, Neil W. Woltjen of Warrington and Danny W. Woltjen and his wife, Jaie of Chalfont, his 11 grandchildren, Sabrinia, Shelby, Kaila, Luke, Trevor, Aidan, Bridget, Audrey, Liam, Eli and Max and his dog Macie.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday, August 10th from 9:00am until his Funeral Service 11:00am in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. Walter’s interment with military honors will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne.
