This update is being provided by his grandson Brian Forrest class of 84. George married and had 2 daughters. He worked for a time at the Philadelphia navy yard and was one of the many craftsman who built the battleship NEW JERSEY. After leaving the shipyard he went to work at Philadelphia transit company as a mechanic.
George was president of the first graduating class in 1931. His Daughter Eileen attended Mastbaum as did his son in law Norman Forrest and 3 of his grand sons. Myself , my brother Norm Forrest '77 and my cousin Joe Kane '78. Being I was the last of his grandchildren to attend Mastbaum, my grandmother gave me his Class ring from 1931 which I hold dear to my heart. Unfortunately I never met my grandfather as he lost his life in an accident at work in 1952 when my mom was only 9 years old. I just wanted to add this to the history of Mastbaum for anyone who may be interested in its early graduates. I will try to update any additional info when I can as even after all these years my mom still tears up when we talk about him.
