The career soldier was active in Boy Scouts.  He attended Mastbaum before entering the Army in 1953.  The 33 year old squad leader had been assigned to Company C of the 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile) in Vietnam for three months when he died on November 6, 1965.

The staff sergeant was survived by his wife, three children, parents, three brothers and seven sisters.
