GILL, Gary

April 9, 1954 - June 9, 2017

Gary, age 63, courageously passed away on June 9th and is finally at peace with his long time companion Barbara Schofield. He was the loving father of Gary S., Michael (Tracy), Steven (Renee), Kathryn McAlorum (Philip), and Mary Weymer (Brandon). Gary’s pride and joy was being the beloved Pop Pop of Cameron, Kieran, Kyle, Isabella, Aiden, Olivia, Edward, Emma, Michael, Timothy, Christian, Eric, Abigale and Bridget. Gary was the youngest of 10 children and is survived by his brother and sisters - Florence Mueller (the late George), Robert (Joanne) and Patricia Williams (Frederick); brother-in-law and sisters-in-law - Marlene, Patsy, Don Gearhardt, Marie, and Joan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Gary spent most of his life as a carpet installer but was most proud of his job at Lowe’s Home Improvement Center in South Philadelphia. He was a loyal Philadelphia Eagles Fan and enjoyed time spent working on home improvement projects with his children. He will be missed dearly. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Tuesday Evening 6:00-9:00 pm and Wednesday 9:30-10:30 am at BURNS FUNERAL HOME, 9708 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19114 followed by his Service at 10:45 AM. Interment private. Donations in his memory to the National Kidney Foundation,1500 Walnut Street, Suite 301, Philadelphia, PA 19102 would be appreciated.
