William A. Gewiss died on Wednesday June 4, 2014 at his residence. He was 85 years of age. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Adolph and Clara Gewiss. William had lived in Plymouth Meeting for the past 8 years and previously been a longtime resident of the Roxborough section of Philadelphia.

Mr. Gewiss was retired employee of The American Brands Company, working out of the Philadelphia office. He was a graduate of Mastbaum Vocational School in Philadelphia. William was an Army veteran serving in the Korean War. He enjoyed woodworking and home repair.

William was the beloved husband of Mabel Kunz Gewiss for 59 years. He was the devoted father of William P. (and his wife Susie) Gewiss of Alexandria, VA and Karen (and her husband Nick) Lennert of Plymouth Meeting. He was the loving grandfather of Ryan Lennert.

Relatives and friends are invited to his service 11 AM on Monday, June 9th at the Lamb Funeral Home (at Forest Hills), 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA. The family will greet friends from 10:00 A.M until the time of service.
