Marie A. Dankelmann, 91, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born April 15, 1926, she was the daughter of the late William and Rose Forstner Ziegler.
Mrs. Dankelmann was a graduate of Mastbaum High School. Mrs. Dankelmann went to work in retail at Strawbridges and Clothier in Philadelphia and for the J.C. Penney Company in 1976, until her retirement in 1991. She was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and going to lunch with friends.
Surviving are four children, Joyce Landbeck (husband Ronald) of The Villages, FL, Barbara Vance of Chambersburg, Robert Dankelmann of Chambersburg, and Norma Dankelmann of Chambersburg; two grandchildren, Stephen and Jessica Vance. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman C. Dankelmann; and three siblings, John and Bill Ziegler and Elizabeth Ziegler.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, where Pastor Scott Bowerman and Pastor Debbie Mummert will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Central Presbyterian Church, 40 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
